The ultra violet inhibiting feature of the Autobody Armor comes from the formulation of photinitiator, polyurethane acrylate oligomer and UV-reactive phosphazene monomer. Polyurethane acrylate oligomer is obtained by the addition of 2 hydroxyethylmethacrylate ((HEMA) to the NCO-terminated polyurethane prepolymer. This type of UV inhibiting power has been found to be more as compared to conventional UV-reactive materials. |

Long been accepted as the leader in warp knitted fabrics for sail covers, sun deck canopies and bimini covers, Coverking’s Autobody Armor is now extensively used as the finest car cover fabric ever invented. This 3-layered polyester fabric is tough as crocodile skin on the outside and smooth as bed linen in the inner side.
Whether it is the intense sun areas of Arizona or the freezing frontiers of Alaska, Coverking’s Autobody Armor shields the car with the same superlative care and concern. And also include in this list the dustiest mines in the country and the most polluted cities across the US too. It neither allows the intense sun rays to play havoc with the car nor permits the UV radiation to wreck the paint work and fade the upholstery of the car. After all, the fabric has high UV agent that has been incorporated using advanced Italian machines.

As for the ‘breathable’ quality of Autobody Armor, studies have shown that the performance of the water-based polyurethane dispersions (PUD) greatly enhances the breathable quality of the fabric while the relative proportions of hydrophilic and hydrophobic components in it results in increased water vapor penetration. So, the middle layer of the cover is actually responsible for this – its ‘breathability’ has been determined to be of 6900 grms/ sq mtr/ 24 hrs and it is water resistant up to 11000 mm.
Though relatively compact and easy to handle, Autobody Armor has long lasting strength since polyester fibers suffer very little no loss of strength due to extended periods of exposure to heat, ultra violet rays, moisture, snow or sleet. Since pigments are built into the fibers of the material and not dyed as other brands, the question of fading or loss of color never arises and as it is already treated for rot and mildew resistance, the Armor is complete in all respect. |
